Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Prevention

SERO works to prevent and respond to gender-based violence by promoting safety, dignity, and access to support services for survivors. Our approach is survivor-centered, confidential, and respectful, with strong coordination with specialized partners.

Our GBV Prevention and Response activities include:

  • Conducting community awareness sessions to promote understanding of GBV, prevention, and available support services.
  • Supporting safe identification and referral of GBV survivors to appropriate health, psychosocial, legal, and protection services.
  • Engaging women, men, boys, and girls in discussions that promote positive social norms and reduce risks of violence.
  • Strengthening community-based GBV prevention mechanisms, including engagement with women’s groups and community leaders.
  • Coordinating closely with GBV and Protection partners to ensure responses follow agreed standards and do not cause harm.
  • Promoting confidentiality and dignity in all GBV-related activities.
